GROOVE PROJECT
Groove Project fuses traditional world rhythms and percussion instruments with original compositions and melodic instruments to develop a unique style of
entertainment for all ages.
Performances feature high-energy
African dance by Molly Watson with a crew of innovative percussionists
for an exciting combination of driving rhythms and world-class movement.
Based in the Mid-Ohio Valley area (Marietta, Ohio, and Parkersburg, W.V.), Groove Project is available for performances in the local region.
Groove Project has been featured at music, multi-cultural, and art festivals; college and community concert series; and as guest artist with
the Southeastern Ohio Symphony Orchestra. Many of our performances include a participatory aspect where the audience can join along in dance or rhythm.
Groove Project produces Drum
& Dance Playshops in historic Marietta, Ohio, featuring hand drumming and
African dance and movement classes.
Members include Andy Hall, Molly Watson, Andy McVey, Ali Pearce, Matt Smith, and Toni Kellar (director of Roots To
Rhythm™), with occasional guest artists.
